Because of God's provision through the faithful giving of His people at Grace Christian Fellowship, we are blessed to be able to support each of these missions organizations on a monthly basis. What a joy to couple together with each of these ministries and help fund what God is doing through each of them in the "mission field" they serve. We have provided contact information for each if you would want to personally support them or just want more information on their ministry.

Straight Ahead Ministries is a juvenile justice ministry dedicated to creating an international movement in which every juvenile offender has the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ. Headquartered in Worcester, MA, Straight Ahead has programs in 19 states and resource materials in 35 countries. Our mission is to see Jesus Christ transform the lives of juvenile offenders. More than three million children and youth are arrested each year in the United States. Countless others are impacted, especially family and friends. We believe that this time of crisis can become the first step towards a new life |
We’re committed to the journey. Transformation usually doesn’t happen overnight. Most often it’s a step-by-step journey, filled with challenges and obstacles that provide opportunities to strengthen faith and develop character. At Straight Ahead staff and volunteers walk with juvenile offenders through every step of this journey. We begin in lock-up, offering opportunities for kids to hear and respond to the Gospel and discover new ways of thinking and living. We continue through reentry, providing structure and support to help them through the critical transition into their communities and develop the skills and character that will help them live healthy, independent, productive lives.
We’d like you to join us. We work in partnership with churches, ministry organizations and individuals to carry out this ministry of transformation. Our supporters, volunteers and affiliates provide resources, support and services for youth around the world. Learn more about how to join Straight Ahead. |
As Communications Director, Barbara Picard communicates the mission and message of Straight Ahead online and in print, sharing ministry initiatives along with the stories of transformed lives.
Barbara also writes material for youth; facilitates small groups with young women in lock-up; trains ministry volunteers; and oversees Living a Life of PROMISE, a substance abuse program that she developed for use with juvenile offenders. Barbara joined the staff of Straight Ahead in 2005 after serving nine years as co-director of Vision New England’s Recovery Ministries. Barbara can be reached at bpicard@straightahead.org

Front-Line Ministry FundVOM's Front-Line Ministries Fund was developed to directly assist pastors, evangelists and Christian workers who minister in the face of hostility and persecution.
These workers bravely preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in restricted and hostile nations at the risk of severe consequences. The support that they need is often unique. They may need horses that are able to carry loads at high altitudes or sponsorship of an underground leaders' seminar. Other times they may simply need a quality bicycle or solar-powered video projector to assist them in their ministry. This fund may also be used to provide direct support to the workers and their families. Grace Christian Fellowship is honored have the VOM's Front-line Ministries Fund in our monthly missions giving! VOM's Front-Line Ministries Fund is expanding evangelism in more than 60 restricted and hostile nations. You may also designate a monthly contribution to this fund! |
Deaf Ministries International
Kenya Development Fund is a mission arm of Agape Christian Fellowship in Brattleboro, VT that was formed by the leadership of the church in 2012 to assist Pastor Michael Gantt in his ongoing work among the Deaf in the East African nation of Kenya. Pastor Gantt has retired from this and Deaf Ministries International has assumed the responsibility of this ministry
The fund is specifically focused on the Immanuel Christian School for the Deaf in Ringa which located in the Nyanza Province in western Kenya. The focus of the Kenya Development Fund is the development of a strong infrastructure for the school enabling them to become self-sufficient by growing and processing their own food and self-sustaining by creating business interest which will enable the school to be free of dependence upon outside financial support. |
This new 65 bed dormitory built in 2012 is just one piece of the multi-staged development program being spearheaded by the Kenya Development Fund. We are currently attempting to raise financing to construct another identical dormitory by the end of this year. All students will then be housed in school owned property and no longer dependent upon rented facilities.

After ten years, the campus at the Immanuel Christian School for the Deaf in Ringa, Kenya is complete. The Kenya Development Fund is primarily responsible for securing the land upon which the school rests and financing the construction of a primary school, two 65 bed dormitories, a 3000 sq. foot all-purpose building, and a ten classroom, 4 office administration building. The school has a large plot of land where it grows much of its own food, such as corn, beans, spinach, kale, bananas, and other vegetables. The school also has its own running water supply and no longer needs to carry water from a neighboring spring.
In addition to the School for the Deaf, the facilities are now being used also for a teacher's college that utilizing some of the space at the school. With construction completed, the Kenya Development Fund is primarily engaged now in underwriting ongoing expenses at the school, including helping to pay teacher's salaries.

Chosen People Ministries
Mitch was raised in a traditional Reform Jewish home near Boston. After graduating from high school, he went to the University of Massachusetts and focused all his attention on a culinary career. Mitch worked at some of the finest hotels in Boston, achieving his goal of cooking with the best chefs in the world. In 1982 Mitch moved to San Francisco and started working at some of the top restaurants on the west coast as well.
However, as a result of his wild lifestyle, he could no longer keep up with the high demands and pressure of cooking at the top and was fired from his job. While lying on his couch one day, he realized that his life was a wreck and prayed to God for the first time in years. The next day, he quit smoking and drinking. As Mitch began to trust God for the first time in his life, he talked with a Christian co-worker about the Bible and Jesus and finally began to grasp the Gospel message.

Mitch invited Jesus into his life in 1987. Afterward, Mitch became involved with Jewish missions and served 12 years in the field both in San Francisco and New York City. In 2002, Mitch and his family moved back to Boston to help in a family business. They started to attend Grace Chapel and Mitch became involved in the adult discipleship team where he taught classes focusing on the Jewish background of the Scriptures. He was also involved in the founding and leadership of Beth Yeshua Messianic Congregation in Newton, which is the heart of Boston’s Jewish community.
Today Mitch is back in full-time ministry as VP of US Ministries for Chosen People, the oldest Jewish mission in the United States. Mitch is based in Boston but oversees all recruitment, training, mentoring and leadership of the entire US-based missionary staff. Mitch is married to Kina, a second-generation Jewish believer, and they have two daughters Kaelee and Alana and a son Joshua.
